The Trunk Railway
WORK TO COMMENCE AT ONCE; [PER UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, This Day. The Government intend to push on the necessary surveys iv connection with the North Island Main Trunk Railway as quickly as possible. Operations will be eommoneed at both ends, and some of the surveyors engaged for the northern section leave for uickland by the Tarawera to-day. It is believed that the first contract will bo out in two months, and work will commence simultaneously at Marton and Te Awamutu.
