The Bunnythorpe-Ashurst Line

Wb have received a telegram from Mr Macabthur. in which he informs us that Mr RIOHABBBON, the Minister for Public Works, assures him that although the Government will make, in the first place, the connection between the Gome and Palmerston in tiew of connecting Napier and Wellington by the shortest route, that .this will by no means stand in place of the line from; Ashuxst to Bunny thorpe, which will ultimately be done. We mny safely assume, therefore, that the question is now definitely settled, and all further agitation on the question unnecessary.
