The Wanganui Herald's Wellington Correspondent writes : — At the caucus of Auckland and Taranaki members held this morning to consider the report of the Select Committee on the North Island Main Trunk Railway question, the following gentlemen were present: — Mr Peacock (chairman), Sir George Grey, Major Atkinson, Captain Morris, Colonel Fraser, Colonel Trimble, Messrs Moss, Cadman, Dargnville, Whyte, Samuel, Hobbs, Lake, Buektand, Thompson, and Moat. After considerable discussion, during whioh it was generally allowed that it was impossible for members to have mastered the voluminous evidence in so short a time, it was resolved that the question of tho consideration of the North Island Main Trunk Railway Committee's report be debated to-night, and an adjournment until Friday asked for.
