THE PALMERSTON JURY.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE STAB. Sib,— l see the list ot jurors drawn for the District Sittings at Palmers ton on the 22nd in -I In nt includes the names of about ten ratepayers of the Borough of Feilding. As part of the business of the Court will, I suppose, be the hearing of a case in which these are interested, and could net be expected to record a strictly impar ial verdict, they being, in fact, virtually defendants, I submit that their sitting on the case would be very improper, if not illegal. I, for one, hare no wish to shirk my duty to my " Queen and counts y," or to refuse the honor of being (tiled a " good man and true." i would, h*werer, suggest that if the Feilding Borough case should be the only one to be heard, the attendance of the Feilding jurors would be a farce, and we ought to be duly notified of our release from such attendance. — I am. Ac, Jubor. [As there arc no criminal cases down for hearing, common jurors may not be required. — Ed. F. SJ
