Feilding State School
The nbore school was examined on the 2n.1, 3rd, and 4th of October instant, by the Inspector. Mr W. H. Vereker-Bindon, M.A. The total numlwr of pupils examined in the rarious standards was 159, and 103 children were scheduled below Standard I. No presentations for examination in a Standard previously pasted, as permitted by a recent Order in Council, were made. The list of presentations and passes are as follows :— Standard Vl.— 6 presented ; 3 passed, viz., Elias Pope, Ellen Holland, Elizabeth Diamond. Standard V. — 5 presented ; 3 passed, viz., John Coombe, Patrick Roaclic A iy Sireeter. Standard 1V.— 23 presented ;8 } m yd, viz., Hermann Bilderbeck, Martin Bilderbeck, Mary Crichton, Minnie Rutherford, Kate Bonche. Jessie Bees, Mary J. Dia» mond, Ada Roe. Standard 111. —35 presented ; 18 passed, riz., Fred Foster, Charles Aitken, Edward Gordon, Edwin Worsfold, Stanley Beattie, Robert Brown, Henrietta Terry, Sarah Wilson, Phoebe Bowler, Annie Chamberlain, Alice Watts, Kleanor Watts, Margaret Erans, Ellen Parr, Mary Rutherford, Emma Young, May Rees, Katie Reading. Standard II. — 47 presented; 31 passed, viz., Kdirard Chamberlain. James Evans, Richard Treveua, Rudolph Bilderbeck, Arthur Foster. Willie Gillespie, John Walton, Willie Short, William Bradley, Thomas Lyne, John Lyne, John Young. Martyn Holland, Annie S. James, Honor Turner. Alice McAlister. Annie Cornish, Eva Roe, Mary McKeague, Katie Streeter, Annie Carthew, Louisa Cook, Rosie Allerby, Adelaide Reading, Ellen Holmes, Annie Newman, Annie Clark, Elizabeth Bellve, Charlotte Bilderbeck, Caroline Arnott, Annie Poad. Standard 1,-46 presented ; 34 passed t viz , Charles Worsfold, Frank Newman. Thomas Cook, Charles Golding, Thomax Gordon, Percy Morphy, Henry Strawbridge, Robert Lowers, George Wickham, George Geange, Walter TowLr. George Watti, Joseph Bellve, William Trerena, i Robert Arnott, Walter Turner, Langley I Bradley, Adeline Harvey. Rose Young, .Kleanor Whisker, Teresa Uowley, Coni!.ince Harvey, Emily Wilson, Katie | Corpe, Maria Gordon, Alice Parr, Rose Bradley, Beatrice Reading, Catherine Stringer, Agnes Keen, Sarah Worsiold, Fanny Wowfold, Emily Noble, Rose Spooner. Sixty one per cent, of the children examined in standards were pasted. Mr Bindon, concludes his report thus : "My best thanks- are due to the head teacher for the maoaqii's(}*Fhirh everything was got ready for . the examination. It will be seen that -'no advantage was takrn of the privilege of je-presenlation, allowed by the late Order in Council. There was no shirking, but an evident desire to have 'all standard pupils classified on their merits. Had this privileged ' been taken advantage of a better percentage of passes would have been obtained, but the teacher . would not have obtaintdj as good an idea of the capabilities of his pupils as he now will have."
