The following is a copy of the letter received from the manager of the Bank of Australasia :— To the Treasurer, Manchester Highway Board, Feilding. Deab Sib, — I beg to remind the Board that the extra limit of overdraft, viz., £200, arranged for by the Treasurer in July (in anticipation of outstanding County rates to be collected) expired on the 30th ult.; the limit is now £1,000, and the account stands Dr. £1,169. Referring to my letter to the Board of the sth July, I would also take this opportunity to point out that in order to bring the finances, in so far as the General Account is concerned, into a thoroughly satisfactory state, it will, I consider, be necessary for the next twelve months to suspend expenditure on works of construction, and to practice the utmost economy in maintenance. — Yours faithfully, A. P. Websteb, Manager. Bank of Australasia, Feilding, 2nd October, 1884.
