The third day's racing of the Australian Jockey Club's Spring Meeting took place at Banwick to-day. The following are the principal events : — Grand Stand Plate, U miles— Paul, 1 ; Boscawen, 2 ; Omadhaun, 3. Time, 2m. 12£s. Ten horses started.

Craven Plate, 1£ miles.— Sir Modred, 1 ; Malua, 2 ; Off Colour, 3. The winner led all the way. Time, 2m. 10^s, Bargo |also started.

Second Foal Stakes, of 1884, H miles — Temple, 1 ; Tremando, 2 ; Manrico,3. Four started. The winner led from start to finish, and won by eight lengths. Time, 2m. 14£s.

Sydney Handicap, l£d miles. — Merlin, 1 ; Friendship, 2 ; Little Sinter, 3. This was a splendid race. Thirteen horses faced the starter. Time, 2m. 395.

Adelaide, Sept 5.

The House of Assembly has adopted the resolution of the Sydney Convention regarding the proposed Federal Council, and will, on Tuesday next, vote the address to the Queen covering the same. Sydney, Sept. 5. All the smallpox patients are progrossing favourably.
