The second clay's races of the Australian Jockey Club's spring meeting took place at TJandwick to-day. The following are the results in the principal evenfs : — Metropolitan Stakes. — Sir Modred, 1; Hilltoj. 2; Hastings, 3. Won easily. Seventeen horses started. Spring Maiden Stakes. — Tremando, 1 ; Manrico, 2 ; Asia, 3. Melbotjbne, Sept. 3. Nothing is yet doing in betting on the Melbourne Cup.
