Dangers of Hock Marriage
An incident of a p> culiar character O'-curred at Dundee a short time ago during- a railway excursion. Every one was in the highest spirits, and on the return journey a number of joung ladies of a literary turn, determined tor keep' up the, hilarity, suggested that the* minister should perform a marriage ceremony in the railway 'carriage: 'JTifs 'proposal was enthusiastically received t»y the company, and as they would take no denial the vforgyman viefded to their importunity. Three ef the young men then chose their partners, and the ceremony was carried through in the orthodox fashion, the minister, in concluding, aravely declaring the parties to be legally married, and reminded them of the relative duties of husband ami wife. The affair was regarded a* a capital joke at the time ; but the l«rties to the transaction are njw somewhat concerned, as the} have beea told, and rightly, that they have done the trick, aad are duly married. The occurrence has been the subject of generat comment, and it is said thai some of the parties are now so ■such in earnest that they have resolved to take legal advice to ascertain their true position. .
