He did not, however, think that at that meeting it would be well .to go into details as to ways and meanft? He submitted a subscripton list which had been pat into his hands by Mr Loudon showing promises most of which Mr Loudpn said might be relied upon as good amounting to upwards of £50. After a Little further discussion, Mr Cottrell proposed, and Mr B. J. Gosling ■econded, That a Fire Brigage be formed, to be called " The Feilding Volunteer Fire Brigade." This was unanimously carried. It was moved by Mr Gordon seconded by Mr Young, That the following gentlemen form a committee to take the neces«arjr steps to form the Brigade : — Messrs W. Stevens, Cottrell, Gosling, Younc, H. Worsfold, Nicholas, C. Bray, junr., arid the mover with power to add to their number. Carried. Mr C. Bray, junr., wa» appointed Hon. Secretary, pro tern. After a vote of thanks to the Chairman, the committee met and adjourned till Thursday evening next, at 8 o'clock at Mr Bray's office.
