London Wool Market

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited) have received the following telegram from their London office, dated the 12th instant:— Wool : The sales opened today at the level of last sales. Crossbreds aie firmer. The sales comprise about 300,000 balep; 36,000 bales have been sent .to the manufacturing districts directly. The open ing catalogue contained 8700 bales and was a fairly representative one.

Dalgetty and Co. (Limited) telegraph to Bctbuue and Hunter :— " Wool sales opened with fair animation. Prices firm. Rise, halfpenny to penny. Tallow — Stability of present rates probable."

London, August 14.

At the wool sales to-day 10,500 bales were catalogued. A firm and active demand was experienced.
