Bkuter's telegbams I Melbourne, August 12. ' Four additional cases of small-pox have occurred here. August 13. ' Sailed, this afternoon, the Union steamship Manapouri, for the Bluff. Adelaide, August 13. The Financial Statement was made in the Assembly last night. The treasurer referred to the gravity of the financial position of the colony and announced that the Government oroposed the imposition of a land tax of halfpenny in the pound without exemption, and an income tax on invested capital of sixpence, and on incomes from professions -or trades threepence in the pound. The revenue from these sources' is expected" to amount to L 200,000 yearly.
