A presentation of. a largely signed address was made .to Thomas Dick' this morning, requesting: him to re-consider his determination not to .accept a seat in the Legislative Council, if offered. Donald Reid, as. spokesman, pointed out that the retiring Ministry, though unpopular now in consequence of the depression, left this affairs of tbe .country in a much better position that when they took office. Mr Dick in reply declined on the ground that the Council was not a proper sphere for a defeated candidate, and announced his intention, on the first vacancy, of seeking to obtain a seat in the House. Nbw Plymouth, This Day The Taranaki Herald's Stratfod corresjondent writes tHat a survey party, in cutting a line between . ti.e Waingongora road and Pealea river, came on a skeleton with a bill hook alongside.
