These applications were granted on the usual conditions. .A. letter -was also read from the Feildme Borough Council asking for assistance towards the Cemetery. It was resolved that the Mayor of Feilding be written to suggesting that he call a meeting of delegates from each District Board concerned, viz. Kiwitea, Manchester, Manawatu and SandonCaroarvon, and that Messrs Bailey and Lethbridge be appointed delegates from this Board. A petitien was real from a number of settlers praying that No. 6 road in No. 4 Ward be made passable for horses and cattle. «.■'#" A request from Bassett Brothers for extension cf time on their contract for metalling Pohoßgina road was received, and, it was resolved, That a new contract -re entered into with them for "the irork, giving them till the end of January 1885 for its completion. The terms on whirh the request on Messrs Jeffries and Nelson were granted were that 30s per acre be paid at the end of 12 months. Proposed by Mr Bailey, seconded by j Mr Linton, That it is the intention of j this Board to make a rate of three farthings in the pound on the rateable value of all property within the Manchester Hoad Board pistrict for the year ending March 3lst 1885. such rate to become payable on and after the 6th day of September 1884 jn one sura. The rate book to be open for inspection at the office of the Board on and after the Bth j day of August 1884 during office hours. —Carried. 1 Proposed by Mr Macarthur, seconded by Mr Bailey, That the Halcombe Local Board, Kiwitea, Manawatu, and Manchester Road Boards be invited to send a representative of their res-: pective bodies to .a. meeting to ar- : range * about the contributions towards* i the Wanganui Hospital, to be held at this office on Wednesday August 18th inst. at 12 o'clock, and that Mr Lethbridge be the delegate from this Board. — Carried. A resolution was passed that there be no County rate struck. -Mr Cotter resigned his wardenship of No* 6 ward, and his resignation was accepted with regret. Accounts amounting to £654 16s Id we're passed for payment. The Board then adjourned. '
