Major Kilchner, who for some time past has been in command of a body ?f Bedouin irregular troops stationed it Korosko, telegraphs from that town liat he has sighted the rebel army luring a recent reconnoissance. Detailed accounts, from independant ionrces, confirm Major Kilchner's report, and show that a strong body >f rebels is now marching upon Korcsko, a town half way between kssouim and Wadysalfa, 100 miles from the southern boundary of Upper Egypt, and commanding the passage )f the Nile. Another body of Arabs is known to be marching towards Dongola, an important Nubian town ibove the third cataract on the Nile, fn view of the threatened attacks of krabs and their possible advance "urther north, the Sussex Regiment, aow stationed at Assonim, has been ordered to proceed at once to Assouan, i frontier town of Upper Egypt, and %n important stratigical position, rhe increasing gravity of the situation is causing considerable alarm here, md anxiety is felt for the garrisons ind inhabitants of Dongola nnd Korosko, which are believed to be ;hreatened with an attack. Another regiment will follow the Royal Sussex to Assouim within a short time in n-der to strengthen the garrison at ;hat place.
