WELLINGTON MARKETS.
Wellington, June 18. Leary A Campbell report :• -Wiih the: the exception of peanuts and cocoanuts, the market is almost bare of fruits, but trade is so bad with the retail fruiterers that what little fruit there is has not risen to the prices tbat might have yeen anticipated. There has been very little dairy produce in the maket ; some cases of preserved eggs at to-day's sale were not rti'.ch sought after at 2s 6d doz. several cases being withdrawn at that price. In general farm produce there is simply no. transaction to report, prices remain at hist qnotations. Shippers should not send consignments - ;, h out careful enquiry from this side, as there is now so small a margin betwen the prices here and at the shiying ports, that but a bare profit is left and we feel assured that any large quantities of general produce coming forward would only land the shippers in a loss, with the present small demand. We have nothing to add to last week's : remarks about the horse market. I
