The Confirmation Service

♦ : — The "Bishop of Nelson, assisted by the Bey Joshua Jones, curate, held a confirmation service in St. John's Church on Thursday evening last. The building was well filled by church people from every part of the district, as well as by many persons of other denominations. His Lordship gave two moat effective addresses during the ceremony. The following are the names of the candidates for confirmation:— Messrs A. Diamond, A., C, & J- Heunett (3), C. J. Halcombe, George Worsfold, Wm. Weightman, A*lf Maunßell. Misses Rachel Llevd, Amy and Jessie Streeter, Elizabeth Diamond, Bose and Emily Maunscll, Emily Bowler, % Sarah Towler." At the conclusion of the service a collection was made towards the-Bchool bnilding fund, and was mosl Überaly responded to.
