The Meeting of the House
The House will meet on Friday next, but beyond the reading of the Speech, no business will be done until Tuesday, the 10th instant, by which time it will be known whether an amendment will be moved to the Address iv Reply. We have very little doubt but that both Sir Geokge Ghky and Mr Montgomery will have a series of amendments to propose, and they will probably be followed by others. Both of the above gentlemen will also table motions of want of confidence as soon as permitted by the rules of the House. The struggle for the leadership of the Opposition will be an interesting one, and, if the whole prosperity of the Colony were not at stake, possibly eren amusing. One thing is certain, that the people of the Colony will not put up with any useless waste of time by the " wind-bags " which represent some of the constituencies.
