Great Fire at Wellington
(PEB UNITED PKEBS ASSOCIATION.) Wellington, This Day. St. John's Presbyterian Cnurch and schoolroom, Willis street, were totally destroyed by fire yesterday morning about 6 o'clock. The fire spread to the private residence of Mr Spinks, the Te Aro hotel, Jamieson's grocery, and several other buildings in Willis street, which were partially destroyed. Tho fire is believed to bo a clear case of incendiarism. The insurances are : — On the schoolroom, £500, in the Northern office ; church, £3,000 in the Northern office, reinsured as follows: — £1.000 in the Suuth British ; £500 in the London, Liverpool, and Globe.
