Moat contemplates contesting Rodney with Seymour George; At the inquest on the body of Patrick Moron, who died in gaol with four of his ri bs fractured, a verdict was returned to the effect that death was accelerated by acci- . dental fracture of the ribs. The police and prison authorities were acquitted of blame, but the jury expressed a conviction that Moran's dying statement was that he asked admission to the hospital and had been refused. Dr Bond, house surgeon of the hospital, in his evidence, denied this, and said that Moran had not applied for admission, nor was there any record of his having done so A sou of Mr Young, of Hokianga, aged two years, accidently fell in the fire yesterday, and died of the injuries.
