General Gordon haa written to Sir Samuel Baker, under date Bth instant, stating that he lias provisions for five months at Khartoum, and a garrison of 500 determined men, besides 2.000 rag tag. He says that he is besieged by the Arabs, and suggests that the plutocrats of England and America should contribute £200.000 for the purpose of hiring 2,000 Turkish nizams (regular troops), which should be despatched to Berber, nnder the command of Zebehr Pasha.- The Governor of Berber telegraphs that his position is very critical. The Governor of Berber, telegraphing, states that bis position is quite ; hopeless, and tbat unless he is reinforced' immediately, he must surrender to. the rebels. The massacre of 300 refugees from Sheady is now fully confirmed, y General Gordon will probably order Stuart and Power to escape across the equator. __-__'. _V./ Cairo, 4pril 22.
