Intelligence has been received to-day that the British troops from Trinkitat have arrived at Souukim, and landed ! there, the orders to disembark them at a point to the southward having been ' c untermanded. Latest telegrams from Souakim announce that Major General Graham ordered the rebels under Osman Digneh to disperse, but no heed has been taken of the summons. It is rumoured that Osman's followers aie deserting him. Hussars at Souakim have been sent to reconnoitre the enemy's position, but Major General Graham has given strict orders that they are not to advance unless there is a certainty of finding Osmau. A number of Arab sheik, have arrived at Souakim. Received March 11, 1 a.m. Cairo, March 9. Osman Digman, the leader of the rebels in Eastern Soudan, has refused to surrender to the British force, and has announced his determination of fighting General Grahams troops, who will advance against the rebels on Tuesday next, and it is expected the battle will then take place Telegrams have been received from Gordon Pasha stating that he is unable to make arrangements for relieving the garrison at Khartoum without the aid of a military force.
