Meteorological Report for the week ended Friday, March 7, 1884. The following table shows the read, ings of the barometer and rain guage at 9.30 a.m. on the dates mentioned, and the maximum and minimum temperature during the preceding 24 hours : —
N .B. — As evidence of the coldness of the present summer, as compared with last, the mean maxima and minima ternperalures for the months of December, January, and February, 1882-3 were 81'91deg. and 52*29deg., respectively, wlu-rea* for the same months of 1883-4 they were 7 *07dee. and 46'47dejj. only — that is, the mean maximum heat for the 3 months of last summer was lOdeg. greater than for those of this, and the mean minimum cold nearly 6riei? less.
