Tlie following report was road at the last meeting of tlie Borough Council :— - We beg to acknowledge re-eipt of letter of 24tii instant, and as instructed therein Lave had the Feildin<r Borough ordinary and loan accounts adjusted, and separate sets of. books opened for each. We beg to hand balance sheet showing (he position of the loan account at date. Tlie balance due by the loan account to the Borough ordinary account is £145 3--2 d, which should be settled so soon as the loan account is in funds ; and as the total cash, receipts and expenditure should appear in the loan account, we would >uy»est that instead of merely paying over the balance, the loan account shoulri !>ay the ordinary account £464 14s Bd. being refund of the total expenditure, and that the ordinary account should n've its cheque to the loan account for £319 11s 6d, the amount collected by it on account of the loan account.
