TO THE EDITOR OF THE STAB. . Sib, — I see that the annual election | for the Licensing Committee for Feilding I DUtrict is to come off on Friday.. week. The nominations are to be' handed to the Town Clerk by 12 o'clock on Friday next, so I think it is time we began to make a stir in the matter. Last year we' had a verification of the old "saying — "Like j Bridgnorth election, all on one side,", but i I see no rea son why . this should be re- . } ,'.' pen ted. I think the temperance folks should " provoke one another" about this important business, and try and getmone or two ot their own party oa the Committee. The Good Templars, Rechabiles and Blue Ribboners put together, formf a 1 tolerably strong body here, and ednld/ 1 ; surely put a good man or two 'on' Jhef ' Licensing Bench. In fact I woujd'.^e. .-.'; mind the Templars especially that this is. one of the opportunities which they are ■>>* bound by the very constitution of their \ : Order to take advantage of for . theVj 1 furtherance of the work for which they-.- ; are banded together. I remember that <: last year, they were very apathetic iri this matter as a body.
