TO THE EDITOR OF THE STAR. | Sic, — I see that the summons issued [ against Mr Gicharrl, and the two Councillors, Mr J. C. Thompson and Henry ] Rutherford are fo be burked. Now Mr j Editor, I want to know if these two last ! men hadn't been members of the Borough. Council whether this would have been done? Any poor man would-have been' .'.» : hunted down like a rat, in my opinion.-s-ass, ! I am, &c, ... Ratepayer. [We havft every confidence in .the honor, -. and justice of the Borough Couiicil as.--; it is now constituted, and if an inquiry ■ ■- into, the matter of the Inspector of Nuisances' report is asked for in .a. £,' projjer official manner, it will be granted. The expense to the ratepayers' would be very trifling. andTsuch ( an enquiry would go along way 'to .retain public confidence in the members! of the i ouncil. Ei>. F.S.] :/
