Feilding State School

— ■» A meeting of the School Committee was held in the schoolhouse last erening. Present— Messrs Sherwill (chairman), Watts (secretary), Bray, Foster, Hutherford, Nicholas, and Towler. The minutes of tbe previous ordinary meeting, and of the meeting for the election of officers were read and confirmed. Letters were re.id as follows :—Education Board re resolution passed at the meeting of householders on the 2Sth of January, also re the nomination of Board members; Mr Watts with complaint against the Master for refusing to admit, his son to the school; monthly report from the Master, aud lei ler re .Vliss Pope's resignation, recommending Miss Diamond as cadet, aud asking for repairs io window blinds. Resolved, That the chairman be requested to write to the Education Board urging tlie absolute necessity of enlarged school accommodation. Proposed by Mr > owler, seconded by Mr Dray, That Mr Dowling be requested to meet the Coin -nit lee at the school house, on Monday, the 18th instant, at 8 o'clock, to answer the complaint of Mr Waits wilh reference to his sou being refused admittance to the school. Carried. Proposed by Mr Rutherford, seconded by Mr Bray, That Miss Pope's resignation be received with regret. Carried. Proponed by Mr FcUer, seconded by Mr Rutherford, That Miss Diamond's name be forwarded to the Board, with a recommendation that she be appointed | to the vacancy caused by Miss Pope's i resignation Carried. It was resolved, That the Secretary hare the repairs done to the window blinds as asked for by Mr Dowling. Resolved also, That the monthly meetings of the Committee be held on the third Monday in each month, at 8 o'clock, notice to be sent to each member. Accounts amounting to £3 7s 6d were passed for payment, and the Committee then adjourned.
