Licensing Committees
%. The time for the election of the above committees is now rapidly approaching. We understand that much more interest is likely to be taken in thii* matter than has been the case heretofore. A quiet and unpretending canvass has been going on for some time, and all the necessary preliminaries made to bring forward candidates of pronounced opinions. We are very glad to notice the increase of public spirit which is day by day evincing itself among the ratepayers and householders. We have every confidence that the next Licensing Committee will be a fairly representative one. But we would remind " the other side " that it will be necessary to bestir themselves before.it is too late.
