Government Tenders
In another column the Engineer of the North Island calls f;r tenders for timber contract for the Auckland passenger station. This contract was advertised before, but none of our local sawmillers could tender, as the time allowed to complete it was too limited. As that objection has now been removed, by the time being considerably ex 'ended, we have every expectation that the contract will be secured in our district, which is really the only one in the colony capable of snpply ing the best quality of totara timber.
