A short conversation ensned on tho loan matter, after which it was resolved, on the motion of Cr Thompson, seconded by Cr Richardson, That the Mayer bo authorised to complete tbe arrangements with the Government for receiving tho first instalment of the loan. The question of tbe drainage of th* properties of Messrs Rutherford, Thompson and Gichard, referred to in tho Inspector of Nuisances', report, was discussed.
