Racing at Awahuri
A race yesterday at Awahuri for £5 between Mr Samuel's bay mare Overdraft, and Mr Jack man's roam mare Gravel pit excited a good deal of interest, and resulted in an easy win for the fifstaamed horse, the second being nowhere. In this connection we may mention that the Maoris are forming a race course in Mr Cole's paddock, near the hotel at Awahuri, and are training several hone* for running at the forthcoming races at «Foxton. .-"
