I London, Dec. 18. | The Royal Dublin regiment of Fusi- j liers are under orders to proceed to Egypt. ■ The homeward mails via Frisco from Auckland, November 6, were delivered here yesterday. The Fenian Joseph Poole, who was found guilty of the murder of Kennedy, was hanged at Dublin te-day. ■_ lt has transpired that Earl Granville has expressed his willingness to mediate between France and China for the settlement of the Tonquiu difficulty if requested to do so. The notorious libel case of Belt v. Lawes will be re-tried unless the plaintiff agrees to accept the offer of £500. A report has reached Khartoum that General Hicks Pasha was captured by the rebels, his hands cut off, and his body otherwise hacked to pieces. In consequence of Fenian threats, strict prcau tions bave been taken to guard Hawarden Castle, London Bridge,, and Newgate Goal. Calcutta, December 18. The International Exhibition up to the present time has been visited by 124,000 persons, aod is gaining in popularity, especially among tbe natives.
