Funeral of the late Mr Dawson
« (PEE UNITED PKESS ASSOCIATION.) Ashbueton, Th;s Day. The funeral of Mr Dawson, late of Feilding, took place yesterday at Watertou. The attendance of settlers and friends :>f the deceased was very large. The members of the Masonic fraternity attended in large numbers, and the deceased was buried with the usual Masonic rites, P. M. Somersett, of the local lodge, E.C-, conducting the ceremony. Halcombe and Sherwill's stock sale to-day was well attended. The bidding for great cattle was very slack, but sheep brought, as usual, fair to good prices. A full report will appear in our next issue.
