Aitken The official enquiry, at the instance of the Collector of Customs, was called at the police court today, but was adjourned. Wellington, Dec. 13. The Australia supplementary colonial mails arrived at Frisco on the 9th nst. The Hon. Mr Eolleston leaves for Christchurch to-morrow for the purpose of being present at the opening of the Industrial Exhibition there. The Hon. Mr Dick will be the only Minister remaining in Wellington. In a quarrel at Carterton last night a cook named Anderson stabbed a woman named Mary White in the neck. The man was arrested and the woman taken to the hospital. The wound is not serious.
