(peb united pbbss association.) Auckland, This Day. Sir George Grey lectured on Federatioa and Annexation last night at the Theatre Royal, to a crowded audience. Sir Geo. Grey was enthusiastically cheered on coming forward to address the meeting. He related what he had done in forty years to get for New Zealand control over certain islands in the South Pacifio. He throughfc tbe present Conferrence began under unhappy auspice*-, as the respresentatives should have been elected by a vote of tbe whole colony. They shoull make as cardinal points in any arrangements come to: First, that they should have the exclusive right *<J of dealing with matters within the limits of the colony ; secondly, of having something to say in the counsels of the empire as to their relations with neighbouring islands ; and, thirdly, that no colony or portion of the empire should be surrendered without its being done by act of Parliament. The meeting broke np with three cheers for Sir G. Grey.
