beutkb'B tklegbams. Melboubne, Nov. 14. It is doubted whether Knowles, the self-confessed murderer of Bates the actor, is sane. A telegram to hand from Alice Springs, one of tlie stations of the overland telegraph line, states that news reached there this morning that the Giles police party of five sent to search for the missing exploring psrty under Mr Head ford have suffered great privations. Three of the Giles party perished from thrist, but Giles himself and a hoy are safe.
