PRIZE FIRING.
The firing for the Government prizes took place on Tuesday afternoon, as we were going to press. The firing was under the supervision of Major Stapp, who afterwards distributed the prizes, as follows :— Corporal Rowley first, Lieut Booth second, Private McDonald third, Sub-Lieut Blackmore fourth, Sergeant Evans fifth, Capt Lethbridge sixth. There were two competitors who made a total, of 28 points each, and two who male 27 each ; but the prizes ia these cases were awarded lo those who made the highest scores at the longest distances.
