TOWN EDITION Manchester Road Board.

An adjourned ordinary meetinsr of the above Board was held at its oft'ci 1 this afternoon. Present — Messrs Maeartlmr Hi airman), Cotter, Linton, Jones and Bailey. Mr Bray, the Board's Engineer, reported on his inspection of the propped Government road through the Tokoranci Native Reserve. The chairman road extracts from the Road Board Act, and pointed out that according to a certain recent amendment the nomination of Mr Lothhridgi? forXo. 1 ward was illegal, the county not having now authority to nominate a warden. A letter was read from R. Hendeison, asking to be allowed to erect a fence across Gillett's line on the Stanwnyrond. It was resolved on the motion of Mr Linton, seconded by Mr Bailey, That he be allowed to erect a swing s,ate in accordance with the provisions of the Act in .'uch matters. The Board then went into committee.
