A party of ladies and gentlemen numbering abont 20, returning from a dance at Karori, reached aa far as the Botanical Garden* safely, whea a trace broke, and, the horses becoming reatire, the coach wect ovor the bank. Most of ths pasßengnrs received in juries of a slight catcro,. but none serious. The party walked home.

A dog which has loat the whole of her interesting family wa« seen trying to poke a piece of crape. through the handle of the door of one of the sausage shops in the city.
