The new club is formed for holding a meeting on the course at Island Bay. Warm discussion took place as to whether this club should not hold its meetings ou the same day as the old club, but ultimately it was left to the committee to decide the date. At the Supreme Court to-day Walter Joseph Newson, who was accused of burning a quantity of books and papers, the property of the West Harbour Borough Council, of which he was Town Clerk was found guitly. His Honor held that the evidence showed that the prisoner fancied he had been wronged by the Corporation, which has discharged him ami committed a wanton through unpremeditated act Prisoner was sentenced to three months' imprisonment.
