Manchester Boad Board.

A. special meeting of the above Board was held at its office, Manchester street, yesterday afternoon, for the purpote of making arrangements to defend the action brought by Mr Henry Adaett agaiast the Board for alleged damage done by fire to his property near Taonui. Present — Messrs Macarthur (chairman), Bailey, Xinton and Jones. After some diseustion on the matter it was Resolved, That the Manchester Road Board defend the action brought against it by Mr Adsett for the alleged damages. Also, That the Chairman of the Board be empowered to do all necessary acts, and sign and affix the seal of the Board to all necessary documents required in the above action, and that Messrs HanJkins and Baker, of Palmerston North, be the Board's solicitors to defend the gaid achon.
