' ' The' Journal'de Geneve gives an inter» *estihg account bf the substantial benefits which "' may be obtained by collecting uncbrisidered ' trifles. There are in Switzerland' nineteen associations promuted for the purpose of collecting " the discarded ends of' cigars, selling them, and applying the proceeds to charitable purposes. Au official report just published shows that for twelve months* operations these associations can show a net profit of 31,250 f., with which 1,726 poor children were provided with clothing.
