(FBOM OCTB OWN Ct>BBESK>ND3NT.) On Wednesday evening a tea meeting was held in. the school house, the object of the gathering being to make a presentation to Miss Wxigley, in acknowledgement of her services as organist of tho Wesleyaa Church. After tea, to which a goodly number sat down, the Rev. W. Worker, on behalf of the church and congregation, presented the above-uanied lady with a handsome gold watch, chain, and trinkets, accompanying the gift with some suitable reinurks, in which he referred to the very valuable sei vices rendered by Miss Wrigley as orgams* during the past five years. Mt Wrigley briefly and feelingly responded on behalf of his daughter. A song "I'm a real Irish laddie," by Thomas Kane; a boy between 10 and 11 years of age, caused mnch laughter. Vir Sexton alao sang in good style "The captain's excursion song." Tho National Anthem by th* whole audience brought a very pleasant meeting to a dose. The watch was from Mr G. Jonness' well-known establishment, Wellington, and bore a suitable inscription. The cost of the presentation was abont £25. A meeting of the Sandon Farmers' Cricket Clnb was called for Thursday evening, but only three were present. I am afraid the oinb will not be got together this year. The Sandonitea, I am sorrj to say, are very backward in turning out to cricket.
