Blue-Ribbonism at Sanson.
(l*BO_t OU» OWN COBEBBPOXDI*T.) •A demonstration by the Sanson branch of the Blue Ribbon Army took place on * Friday last. At 7 o'clock a procession 100 strong headed by the president, the Rev. W. Worker, started from the school house, the members carrying lanterns, and singing appropriate songs, and marched as far as Mr Bowater's, and back to the school house, where after some music had been prettily rendered by the Misses Hammond, a lecture was delivered by Sir William Fox. The Rev. W. Worker presided. Sir William delivered a very able and exhaustive address on the evils of intemperance, and the benefits of total abstinence. A few remarks were made by Mr Johnston, the secretary, and others. The Misses Hammond played another duett, and Mrs Douglas sang a solo. The usual votes ot thanks to the lecturer, chairman &c, brought a very interesting gathering to a close. ______________________
