Deceased Wife's Sister.
(Pta UNITED PEESS ASSOCIATION.)
Wellington, Sept. 12. At the annual session of the Church of England Dioce sau Synod, the Pr_~ident, the Bishop of Wellington, in his opening address said he could not but regard the present educatioa system but one as likely in years to come to be prejudicial to the interests of the colony. He condemned the Act of Parliament which legalised marriage with a deceased wife's sister, and hoped no clergyman holding a parish in this district would celebrate the ceremony. One clergyman had consulted him recently as to such a marriage, and ho had advised Lim not to solemnise it. cat-MM-M-BOH-M-M--
