Rise in tlie Price of Stock.
In our commercial columns we publish a stock report from Messrs Steyens and Gorton, which will satisfactorily prove the steady advance that is now obtaining in the value of stock. At the last stock sale reported a fortnightago, beef brought j £6 5s ; it will be seen that this has advanced to £6 10s. 2 and 3-year-old [ steers sold for £2 12s are now quoted at £3 8s 6d and £4 15s ; fat wedders Os to 10s 7d, are now quoted at 12s 7dj nnd store wedders, lis 3d. These figures speak for themselves, and require no comment from ns.
