Earthquakes in England.
It is very seldom that shocks of earthquake have been felt so plainly in England as wag the case on Monday, June 26, in North Devon. Holsworthy, Bideford, Hartland, Clorelly, and Bude, were all of them sensibly shaken. A panic was erpated, and the eounlry folk were terrified with the motion that the cad of the world was athaad. Throughout the whole of the United Kingdom the atmosphere during the last fendays ha* been charged with electricity. Rain and thunderstorms have been frequent, but in the metropolij they have not impaired the brilliancy of tbe London season, which i* ono of the best known for many years. — Home Newg.
