CORRESPONDENCE.
The Library. TO THE MUTOB Of THB STAB. Sib,— l see by advertisement in yonr journal that the Financial Committee 'laving been authorised to purchase new oooks for the Library, and being desirous to consult the wishes of the burgesse9 before making a selection, are inviting them to make such suggestions as may be helpful to the Committee in making <uch a selection as may give general atisfaction. As any suggestions must be sent in to Mr Hill, the Town Clerk, not later tban Saturday next, September Ist, there is not much time to lose, and i I is to be sincerely hoped that those who nre anxious to see a really good collection of books on the shelves will not be backward or squeamish in letting the Committee know what books tbey would like, or rather what kind would be most desirable and suitable for the generality of readers. I will not venture to make suggestions here, beyond saying by all means let us have, as far as the funds will go, a good and fairly representative Library.— l am, &c, . Rbadbk.
