The entertainment given in the Mafrreg , Road SclmoThoiise on Tuesday evening ' in aid of the school prize fund passed , off very successfully. The attendance, , especially when the inclemency of the weather is considered, was very good i indeed, and the proceeds. were satisfactory. Mr Daw's break, and one or two other i rchicles from Feilding were laden with i either visitors or performer*, the latter < being all well-known local amateurs, all 1 of whom did so well that we forbear to \ give a detailed description of esch individual effort; 1 and in most cases the title j of the piece will afford sufficient clue to ( the name of the lady or gentleman who f rendered it. Following is the programme gone through under the maaagemeat of \ Mr Dowling:— Piano solo, "Wedding ] March"; song, " SUver C«p"<; glee, < "Hail to the Chief; song, "Three i V. aids of Le/'; reading, "Mrs Caudle lends a £5 note "'; glee, "Village Choristors"; song, " Boatswain's Tarn"; piano solo,."Marcheaut Flambeaux"; song, "Blue Alsatian Mountains," with "Bid t tne not'Borgef* for encore; reading, v "Faithless Sally Brown"; eoag, "True } till death " ; . song, " Old Timbertoes " ; r glee,^ "Awake '^'olian Lyre,; soag, r "Won by a Rose"; \ trio', , " A little farm x _ well tilled," which was of course encored. Each of the above efforts was duly appredated by the audience, and.the whole f gave much satief action." After the entortaininent 'a goed number of ladies and c gontlcmea stayed for* a "trip on the light' j fantastic - toe," dancing being. kept up t till about half past eleven. ' 1
