Cheese and Butter Factories.
Mr Bo wron, the Government lectu rer on Cheese and' Butter Factories, arrived here to-day by the noon train from Wan-; ganui. During the afternoon he drove ou* into the country, accompanied; by. Mr -' Sherwill, to make a casual observation of the capabilities of the /Manchester ; Blbck for the estaHishment of a factory. He expressed himself in terms of the higbcei eulo^iumipf what he saw, and considers that no part of the colony he has yet visited shows finer land for dairy farming and all its ramifications. Bowron will proceed on his way to Wellington by train this '> evening. He expects toleeture here in about a fortnight, before which time lias , expired ample notice by advertisement will be given, so that the settlers and farmers may. have .an opportunity of hearing his views.
